HOW TO APPLY

Any person or legal entity that owns the rights in at least one (1) commercially available sound recording master is eligible to be a member of KAMP.

The ownership of rights in sound recordings is usually the financing of the fixation of sounds of a performance or other sounds or the representation of sounds or through assignment. To entrust the administration of your rights to KAMP, simply fill the following documents:

• Membership application and agreement form
• Sound recording declaration form in which you declare those sound recordings for which you are the rights holder as well as any other participant in each in each declared recording. Once you are a member, all you have to do is keep KAMP up to date with your repertoire and contact details

MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

For individual, Registered companies and Business names or Legal entity representing a group of producers

• Copy of KRA PIN updated on ITax (individual producers)
• Attach both copies of the PIN and VAT numbers (companies)
• A copy of the certificate of registration and incorporation
• A duly filled application and agreement form
• A sound declaration form for each recording to be registered
• Digital rights agreement (optional)
• Evidence of the sound recordings i.e. copies of CDs, DVDs, VCD, or MP3
• New applicants will need to provide proof that their songs were being played on media, skiza, youtube, etc. through provision of statements.
• New applicants will also be required to provide proof financing their productions by submitting a copy of the receipt they paid for studio services.
• If the sound recordings being declared are not productions, submit a valid signed contract or agreement between artist(s)/group or band and producer
• A non-refundable registration fee of Kshs. 10,000/- payable once (as prescribed by KAMP from time to time)
• Two (2) passport size photo 

If one is applying on behalf of a deceased person, also submit letters of administration from courts of law and a copy of the death certificate.

PAYING REGISTRATION FEES USING M-PESA
